GroupWise Troubleshooting Tips

Having answers to the following questions will help when troubleshooting your Groupwise problem.
  • Is there an error message and if so what is it?

  • Check for common error codes under the Support section on the menu.

  • When did problem start?

  • Was any software or hardware installed on workstation? Has any work been done recently on your machine?

  • Do other applications work?

  • Try to Telnet or open a web browser as these also use TCP/IP.

  • Has it ever worked on this workstation?

  • New employee or workstation perhaps?

  • Is the problem user specific?

  • Can someone else log into GroupWise from same workstation?

  • Can you duplicate problem?

  • Is error random or can it be duplicated on demand?

  • Does it happen to other people in your area?

  • If yes, it's not a workstation issue. Possibly a network or server problem.

  • What is the GroupWise version?

  • In GroupWise go to HELP, ABOUT GROUPWISE to get version number.

  • What is the operating system and patche level?

  • Select START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM. General Tab will indicate what OS and version is on the workstation.
