Shared Workstation

Groupwise prompts you for the password only when attempting to log in. On workstations where multiple people log in, the password request may not be for the person trying to log in. Simply select the "Cancel" button in the window or hit the "Escape" key on the keyboard. You will now get the window that allows you to enter your UserID.

If you wish to make the full login window come up without hitting Cancel or Escape, add the following switch to the desktop shortcut to force GroupWise to prompt for both user ID and password regardless of who is logged onto the network.  (Note: Macs do this by design.)

  • Right click GroupWise desktop shortcut
  • Select Properties
  • Enter (space)/@u-? after target so that it appears as follows:
    C:\NOVELL\GroupWise\GRPWISE.EXE /@u-?
