GroupWise Import/Export Tool

GWIMPEXP.EXE is a "universal" import / export tool for GroupWise. It uses the GroupWise Object API to exchange data between GroupWise and text files. Address book and calendar data are supported.

Uses
GWIMPEXP.EXE can be used to import data from another system into GroupWise. If the other product supports a text file export, you can configure GWIMPEXP.EXE for the format of the file, choose the file, and import the data.

GWIMPEXP.EXE can also be used to export data from GroupWise to a text file. This can be useful when trying to copy GroupWise data into a personal digital assistant, Timex Datalink watch, etc. for which there is no synchronization software available. As long as the other program or device can import data from a text file, you can use GWIMPEXP.EXE to get the data from GroupWise.

Usage
GWIMPEXP.EXE should be run on a machine that has 32 bit GroupWise client running in a 32 bit Windows environment and has access to the file(s) that was exported from the other data source.

When you first start GWIMPEXP.EXE, make sure the settings for date mask, destination, delimiters, and filter are correct before selecting the input file. delimiters are the most important to get right since they are used when reading in the import file to present the field list.

Next, select the file to import.

The field list should poputate based on the first line of data in the file.

Re-arrange the fields to match the GroupWise item type fields with the import file fields.

When you are satisfied with the setup, click the Import button to start the import running.

If you'd like to see what the export part of the product looks like, click on the export tab and have a look. The export button is disabled in the demo version but the rest of the screen is functional.

License
Licensing has been removed from the product to allow unlimited use by GroupWise customers.
