Spell Checker
Use Spell Checker to check for misspelled words, duplicate words,
and irregular capitalization in items you are creating. When Spell
Checker finds a misspelled word, you can replace it with a word
Spell Checker suggests, edit the word manually, or skip the word.
You can also define an automatic replacement for the word, or add
the word to a user word list.
Spell Checking As You Type
Use spell checking as you type to check for misspelled words, duplicate
words, and irregular capitalization in items you are creating. When
spell checking as you type finds a misspelled word, the word is
underlined in red. You can see a list of suggestions, add the word
to your word list, or always skip the word by Control-Clicking the
red-underlined word. By default, spell checking as you type is Enabled.
Junk Mail Handling
Use Junk Mail Handling to decide what to do with unwanted Internet
e-mail that is sent to your GroupWise e-mail address. Internet e-mail
includes all e-mail where the sender’s address is in the form
of name@domain.com, name@domain.org, and so forth.
Junk Mail Handling does not apply to internal e-mail. Internal
e-mail is e-mail where the sender is part of our GroupWise system.
This includes UT Southwestern, University Medical Centers, Children's
Medical Center and any other user listed in the Novell GroupWise
address book. In Internal e-mails the From field shows only the
name of the sender, not an Internet address as explained above.
You can use Rules to send Internal e-mails to the Junk Mail folder.
Default Compose and Read View Fonts
You can now select a default font and size for the Compose View
and Read View. In the Compose View you can set the font and size
for both plain text messages and HTML messages. In the Read View
you can set the font and size for plain text messages. You can also
force plain text messages to display instead of HTML messages. If
you select HTML as the default Read View, you cannot select the
font and size of the message.
Reply Text Format
When you reply to a message, you can select how the reply text
should appear. You can select from three settings for the reply
text format:
- GroupWise classic, which shows the date before the original
message
- Include Header, which shows the header information before the
original text
- Internet Standard, which adds a greater-than sign (>) in
front of the original message.
Rules
You can automate many GroupWise actions, such as replying when
you’re out of the office, deleting items, or sorting items
into folders, by using Rules to define a set of conditions and actions
to be performed when an item meets those conditions.
All Day Events
GroupWise now has support for all day events. All day events are
displayed at the top of the calendar view. When you create an all
day event, by default it does not mark the time as busy.
Filters
If your Mailbox or Calendar contains many items, you might have
a difficult time finding just one of them. Filter lets you display
items according to specific criteria. For example:
- Filter can display only items that have a certain word in the
subject
- Use filter to hide items that you want to get out of your way
- Filter does not actually move or delete items; it displays certain
items based on the criteria you specify
- Filters you create affect all folders
When you clear the filter, all the items reappear. By clicking
a folder, you can see the filter results immediately.
